WHAT MAKES OUR LUXURY SCENTED CANDLES SO SPECIAL?
At heart, we’re candlemakers who delight in bright, beautiful, evocative scents. That’s why we spend months perfecting our fragrances, searching for just the right combination of notes to stir the senses.
We also hand make our luxury scented candles here in Britain. Expert chandlers hand pour our blends of essential oils and premium fragrances with soy wax, making them the traditional way and in small batches to ensure a consistently high quality. Our ceramic candle holders are made and hand decorated by expert ceramicists in Stoke on Trent.
We use natural soy wax and lead-free wicks that don’t release toxins, have a long burn time, and offer a strong throw even when unlit.
And lastly, we design our luxury scented candles to look as good as they smell. The ceramic candle holders are decorated with our illustrations and painted with 22 carat gold – both of which combine to visually represent the essence of their fragrance.

Our luxury candles are made to be evocative – so that in their flicker and glow, they transport you to places of nostalgia, wonder and serenity. However, we know it can be difficult for you to pick and choose the right scent for you while shopping online. That’s why we’ve organised our range of home fragrances by fragrance type.
We have fragrances inspired by florals and garden scents for those who love the outdoors, and we have fragrances with notes of citrus that are zingy and uplifting. Our fresh / ozonic fragrances brim with notes of the seashore and beaches, and we also carry woods & spice fragrances that contain woody notes.

What makes Chase and Wonder candles different?
We wanted to create a candle too beautiful to throw away. One you'd want on your shelf whether it was lit or not, illustrated by hand, made in fine china in Britain, finished with 22-carat gold. A candle you'd light for reading, for relaxing, for the quiet moments that deserve something special. And when the wax ran out, we wanted you to simply refill it, with the same fragrance or a different one, and carry on. Not a candle you use and discard. A Candle for Life.
Are the ceramic candles refillable?
Yes. Every Chase and Wonder ceramic candle is designed to be refilled - the vessel is made to last a lifetime.
For single wick ceramics, simply order a candle refill (£40) in your chosen fragrance and it is sent straight to you. Many customers have been refilling the same ceramic for years.
For three wick ceramics, we offer a refill service (£80, UK only) where you send your empty vessel back to us, we refill it by hand and return it to you. We pour twice a year - in March and September - so places are limited. Glass candles are not refillable.
Why are Chase and Wonder candles so sustainable?
Several reasons, but the most significant is refillability. Every Chase and Wonder ceramic candle is what we call a Forever Ceramic - a vessel designed not just for one candle, but for a lifetime of them. When the wax runs out, you refill it. The ceramic stays. Many of our customers have been refilling the same vessel for years, which means no new packaging, no new ceramic, no waste.
Beyond that: our candles are made with vegan soy wax rather than paraffin - a renewable resource that burns cleanly without releasing toxins. The wicks are lead-free cotton. And everything is made in small batches in Britain, by small teams, without the waste of mass production.
A Chase and Wonder ceramic candle is one of the few things you can buy that genuinely gets more sustainable the longer you own it.
How long do the candles burn?
Our ceramic candles burn for up to 90 hours. Glass candles burn for 40-50 hours. Both use vegan soy wax and lead-free cotton wicks. To get the most from your candle, trim the wick to 3-5mm before each burn, and on the very first light allow the wax to pool all the way to the edge of the vessel - this prevents tunnelling.
What is the difference between the ceramic and glass candles?
Our ceramic candles (£68) are the flagship: 300g of vegan soy wax in a hand-decorated fine china vessel with 22-carat gold detailing, up to 90 hours burn time, refillable indefinitely. Our glass candles (£40) offer the same fragrances in a black glass vessel - 185g of soy wax, 40-50 hours burn time, not refillable. If you are buying as a gift or something to keep, the ceramic is the one.

Are Chase and Wonder candles made in Britain?
Yes - everything is made in Britain. The ceramic vessels are hand-decorated in Stoke-on-Trent, Staffordshire - the heart of British pottery for over 300 years - by a small father-daughter team. The candles are hand-poured in small batches by skilled British chandlers. We have made our products this way since 2010.
Why do Chase and Wonder candles only use soy wax?
Soy wax is natural and renewable, where paraffin is a byproduct of petroleum refining. Soy burns more slowly and cleanly, giving our ceramic candles a burn time of up to 90 hours. It also carries fragrance more effectively, so the scent fills a room rather than sitting at the wick.
Why do Chase and Wonder never use paraffin or mineral wax?
Because it has no place in a candle you are going to live with. Paraffin wax releases toxins and soot when burned, it burns faster, and it carries fragrance poorly. We have never used it, and we never will. Every Chase and Wonder candle is made with vegan soy wax and a lead-free cotton wick. That is the only way we know how to make them.
